Having grown up surrounded by nature, I knew that its power could be used to our advantage or disadvantage. I know that at the moment the terms sustainability or recycling are both very trendy. However, back then it really was only a way of living for the wise.
Since that time I have continued with this hobby, exploring plants, doing scientific research, and testing all that wasn’t really under the radar like a Max Huber 😉
And then in 2014 my first laboratory was established.
From this point on, I began experimenting and researching chemistry more deeply creating my first etalons and unique recipes / formulations.
Creating my own makeup and cosmetics was also a motivation for me at the time, since I was just starting out in the beauty industry and found budget-friendly products unusable.
Sincerely, back then all the cosmetics manufacturers did not emphasize wellness, clean, organic, non-plastic, smart or sustainable products (ingredients, methods, containers, etc.) and I did not want to support this way of living, thinking and acting. I wanted something premium, new, effective and personalized.
My true inspiration will always be my Grandmother, a true skin guru of her time and place, and of course that’s just a small fraction of who she was. She knew everything about plants, she really was a joy to listen to and every woman in “town” wanted to chat with her about skin care, fashion, cooking and even business.
Since day one my work space has been Didi’s Laboratory, or Didi’s Lab. For me it is like a dream come true, to say out loud “I’m off to the lab to test something”. At the moment it is a boxy, packed and cute workspace for one aspiring experimentalist 🙂
